A few shots from this year's spectacular Children's Moving On Parade in Lewes. It really was a big party, taking over the High Street and attracting hundreds of amazed onlookers, young and old. 

The photos show just how much effort the schools put into this unique event, now in its tenth year and supported entirely by the generosity of the community. The event marks an important stage of the children's development as they move on to secondary education and is a wonderfully colourful and joyous occasion...long may it continue.

Hormones, vegan nutrition, and being a woman in the modern world

Toby has recently been commissioned to produce some photographs for Bo Novak and her campaign to help raise awareness about premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and share information about a complex set of hormonal symptoms, which at any given time is affecting a huge number of women ranging from their 20s to their 40s.

"I don’t think premenstrual syndrome is an inevitable part of being a woman.  But I do think how we live our lives today can often make it worse.  We live in stressful, demanding times, full of both challenge and opportunity – particularly for women".

Bo's techniques are based on a holistic approach, including an amazingly healthy diet and exercise and  show how women can feel ok every day of the month.

Toby Smedley has recently been working with Ridgeview (the highly acclaimed English Sparkling Wine maker) who have just launched a new website to showcase their wines and winery.

Toby was commissioned by Ridgeview to photograph the estate, the people, the processes and incidentals involved to help bring the website to life. "It's been a really lovely project to work on, there's such a wealth of fascinating subject matter to photograph. It's also great to be working with a local company who take such care in how their business is portrayed." In support of Exposure Photography's  images are  some examples from Ridgeview's own extensive photo library.

The website has been designed by Hudoq Digital Media and uses the Stockashop e-commerce content management system developed by Sensable Media.

Mike Roberts, Director and Founder of Ridgeview has been recognised in the Queen's Birthday honours and awarded an MBE for his services to the drinks industry through his position as Chairman of the English Wine Producers. Congratulations Mike!

Toby has just produced a series of stunning shots in support of the 2011 Patina 'Moving On Parade', the images have been used on the poster, the cover of the programme and as a life size cut-out to promote the event. Brother Chris Smedley at Hudoq Digital Media did the Photoshop work and montaged the imagery to create the final artwork. "You have done us proud, the whole thing looks lovely and the cover is a classic!" said Mark Robertson the Moving On parade coordinator.

The extraordinary and utterly unique Children’s Moving on Parade is made up 500 young people who transform Lewes high street into a mind blowing moving river of colour, rhythm, dance and music.

The Parade celebrates the district's children moving on from primary to secondary school. Carnival costumes, sculptures and dance are created by children from 14 primary schools working with a team of local professional artists, supported by parents and teachers.
